Tiny City Dev Blog # 2 - UI and Game Mechanics

I haven't been able to work on much this week due to work but I have been giving this a lot of thought. I worked a bit on the UI and started placing things on the screen. As for the actual game mechanics I'm a little stuck on what we'll actually be doing as the first task. Should we let players design the buildings ? The size of the building? What about the type of room ? and furniture inside? What does the player actually do to make money? How do we even start? I have no idea but i think we'll just do one step at a time. For the moment I'm reorganizing all the art into individual sprites in order to create an atlas.

I also noticed we have ground tiles available so i think I'll have to redesign the background a bit to add some dirt and grass. I've been also thinking about what device will we target with this game? I guess this fits right into the Mobile Market so we'll go with that. I hope phaser 3 can integrate well with Google play for Micro-Transactions and to save user gamer profiles. We'll see!
