Septembers Project: Lancer

Ok, been thinking about a short Lancer Campaign

  • 1 Mission
  • 3 Combats
  • 2 Sides
  • LL2, ending at LL3

The players can either be a DoJ deputized crew, or a cadre of clone pilots staging a breakout.

-If they're with the DoJ then their path is as follows: Airdrop outside the facilities bunker entrance and disable the AA platforms so their dropship can hit the bunker doors with a missile.

-If they're breaking out, then they start in the very bowls of the facility, the Combat Testing Arena. With the help of a hacker (or hackers, it's unclear) h0muncu1u5 they'll need to fight their way to the exit and cargo lift on the same side

-No matter the path, the middle mission is always the Funicular. Ride it up or down as enemies jump on as you pass floors, pop out of service hatches, and even scale the walls after you.

-Finally, your group ends where the other path begins, on slightly remixed versions of the same maps

As an example, I've been working on some basic maps with the map tool from Interpoint Station

Here's two versions of the surface

The first represents the surface as it is in Path A, the DoJ path. An opening bombardment has failed to do much real damage, but has churned up the earth enough to serve as some small cover. The PCs will also have the opportunity to use some reserves to create more cover/concealment in addition to thinks the the Jericho Pattern A tool. They land on the left and it's their job to move right and take out the two AA guns (objectives) keeping their air support from the area. Either slowly through direct damage, or immediately by moving next to one and hacking it through a hardline.

The second map show it as the clones would encounter it, emerging from the bunker. The barricades would be retracted then but they could take control of them by moving next to them, h0muncu1u5 would have also hacked some of the turrets. The enemy has retreated across open ground, pulling supplies from the facility to construct barricades, hoping to create a kill box for the players. The AA guns wouldn't play much part here.

Thought about using RetroGrade Minis turrets but then I remembered you can't use those in paid projects, so I'll have to figure something else out, or just leave it up to the GM

Next, to make the other maps. I'd like to get professional maps made for it, but that's probably out of my price range and I don't have the following to do a small kickstarter, so we work with what we have.
