W*tching Hour is a narrative driven game, where players will tend the bar and its fantastical guests at an on campus pub at Fabled University. At the beginning of each shift the player will interact with a chest that sits atop the bar - this chest comes from the Witch who owns the pub and will include items that the player can restock the bar with, along with new upgrades or recipes.
This chest is a dark walnut wood, with a patch of fresh green moss on top. At each side there is a cluster of crystals, a sky blue that fades into a lavender, with amber candles resting atop them. Instead of a lock, there is a glowing Triple Goddess symbol in the center that mimics the moon in color and texture. Hovering off the center circle is a neon pentagram with an additional dot above each point to further represent fire, water, earth, and air. Two runs are carved into the walnut wood, they sit opposite each other, below the pentagram - Osa (which looks similar to an F) and Gera (which looks like a diagonal Z with a pocket of air in its mid section). Osa can mean good fortune and/or favorable outcome, while Gera can mean harvest, rewards, and/or tangible results from work - things that every boss should wish upon their employees.
The chest will open through a simple clicking mechanic - the chest itself will emit a bright light that envelopes the screen while the game loads the next image, which will contain the items used to stock the bar - tea bags, potions, charms/talisman, crystals, and an assortment of ingredients to make snacks. Again these options will develop more as the player progresses to keep them from feeling too overwhelmed
