Hey gamers,
It's been a busy month. I've moved into a new job. I'm moving into a new house. You know how it is.
That means no module or zine this month. Or does it!?
I've written up a whole new hexcrawl as part of a writing jam on Luke Gearing's discord! The event was called The East Lake Survey, and was themed around transforming very bare-bones descriptions into something gameable. My 'verse' of East Lake was themed around the Heathlands from my West Midlands setting. I'm pretty proud of it. Here's the first entry:
1.1. The flowering wood Bod Petryal. Inhabited by the effeminate Angarad, preening in nature and vibrant in cloth but as loud and jealous as any other giant. He strides the wood, casting the seeds of flowers from his pouch so that his trio of ten-foot-tall cattle (Lilac, Mauve, and Thistle) can feast heartily and be milked for dye. Roll a d6. On an even, sight a cow. On a 6, hear (and then encounter) Angarad. One can follow him back to his gorge-shrouded workshop, stocked with hundreds of colourful bolts of linen the size of tree trunks (1000 gold coins each).
It's not going to be hosted on this itch page (but will likely end up somewhere else on itch). I'll put a link when it is.
Thanks to everyone who made the project possible, especially Stella, who wrote the prompt and organised it. Check out the original post here on her blog: https://poundsofnothing.blogspot.com/2024/08/the-east-lake-survey.html
See you all next month!
