HI everyone!
It's now August and I"M SICK OF THIS HEAT.
This month's playlist:
(I love these AC asmr cafe/nighttime/whatever ambiance videos. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.)
Let's keep this short:
What I did!
So that's 6(?) maps I was able to make and leaves 15 more to finish! (I might be forgetting some so expect this to increase) These have been so relaxing to work on but wow they're taking a while to make.
LOL Im not participating in Yaoijam anymore I feel like. I'm just making my little game and having fun.
There are a few areas that are a bit rough (edge collisions, animations etc.) but I hope people will be understanding. It exists and, in my book, it looks incredible!
And I think it's pretty obvious from these screenshots, but yeah this is just a full blown RPG now.
I did find some time to draw a bit more for myself this month. :) Drawing is so much fun.
And with that, let's see what I'll be able to do this month.
My goal is:
1. Finish at least 6 more maps!
2. Try making a skybox (do not worry i didnt forget it!)
and
3. Draw some fanart!
Next month's update might be a bit late because I'm on vacation from the very end of August till September 9th. So expect a mid September update!
C u~!

Reading: She Who Became The Sun - Shelley Parker-Chan
(I actually didn't read any books I LOVED this month. They were mostly... fine. They were fine!
But I just started She Who Became The Sun and already I'm enjoying it quite a lot. It's interesting to compare this to The Poppy War. That one had better side characters, but I find the protagonist of Sun to be infinitely more likeable while still keeping her cutthroat aspect. I also appreciate how this isn't some strange renamed Chinese history, it feels more honest that way? It's the Huns. That was my biggest gripe with Poppy, it felt disingenuous to retell one of the worst human atrocities with kids who get high to fight with their anime powers with all the names changed and the author just hoping you don't notice. I liked the prose enough but just wanted less... that. Sun seems to be fitting the bill much closer and I hope it keeps it up as I make my way through the novel. :) )
