Welp...this is my first blog post about...well...anything. (Lol.)
I want to use this platform to post my games and have an excuse to post blogs. As an artist and video game enthusiast, I've always wanted a chance to make games and I decided to start my journey. I released my first (semi-official) game on my profile, The StoryTeller: Prologue. The CubeRun one doesn't count. That's just me learning from the Brackeyes "How to make a video game" tutorial. The game is janky as hell, I know, but it truly feels fulfilling knowing that I made this! I made it! Even the art and assets were all made by me on Blender and Procreate. That's an accomplishment for me at least.
One thing I want to make clear is that I am not a programmer. Not an expert here. I know the bare minimum and many of the gameplay and scripts were from tutorials I reused and repurposed. Along with some assets like the "first-person controller." I've tried to learn how to program multiple times, but I just can't understand it. I tried to practice and watch videos. I'm more of an artist than a programmer. That's what I want to be in the long run. Sadly, unless I find someone to be my programmer, don't expect any major features or assets program-wise. Like advanced gameplay and all that crap. I can't program for the life of me and that's okay with me. I want to be an "artistic developer." That means my main focus is the art. I plan to make simple games with beautiful and artistic styles. I may improve my skills every now and then, but again, I'm not a programmer.
I'm currently 18 years old and I'm in my senior year of high school. This is a moment I want to take advantage of. While I focus on my school work, I want to be an indie developer/creator. I hope to make games and videos on YouTube to try and grow my presence and following. I hope I can get to this point and create content for those to entertain. I just want to make people happy. I know that sounds cheesy as hell, but who cares!? I mean it! I hope to grow and share my stories with others and make connections. I invite you to say "hi" if you want to. I hope you stick with me if you somehow find this and I'll try everything in my power to make these dreams a reality.
Thank you, if you see this and took the time to read this.
