Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well.
I've spent the last few weeks revisiting my projects, experimenting with non-playable elements like numbers, learning new operational formulas, testing tools beyond ChoiceScript, and most importantly, reflecting on the experience gained from the three out of the seven smaller games I want to publish.
I have three games in draft state, which are currently undergoing beta testing, and I'm taking my time making good English adaptations with the help of a friend.
One of them was planned for release on 07/13, but I ended up modifying some structures, resulting in the opposite of what I achieved with "Forgive," where I published it to avoid endless tweaking. However, in the future, I'll talk about each one separately when I have something solid to show, beyond what is currently tests and experiments for me.
I have more than half of the corrections for "Nihil Obstats" ready (by the way, the game will likely be renamed because I'm planning to include one of the add-ons along with the corrections, which is why it's taking longer). I'll redo "Forgive" to make space for the new method I currently have for attributes and tests and generate the first season of "Off The Podium (Remade as Breakers: Crash or Crash)," which should also be renamed, focusing on a game that covers a pilot's career season by season. One of the reasons for the delay is that, besides needing to properly establish a save and load system due to the increased game time, I realized that randomly generating races is an interesting and useful effort, but ultimately, I spend much more time thinking about how to apply the random possibilities than actually creating them. At the beginning of the month, I took the approach of making races one per day instead of generating them randomly. I managed to finish three races and felt very good about the results, unlike when I generate them randomly, where I have a horrible neurosis about whether the attributes are being well-used and balanced due to the lack of immediate control over what's happening.
Soon, there will be changes, at least one new game this month, and some reworkings :) See you next time!
