"gen.loss" has been taken down because I am in agreement that this is the right thing to do, ethically and in accord with the wishes of the devs who have requested it. I want to be clear on reflection that there are assets and ideas in the game that were far too close to other assets - to the point it can be considered copying. There is a difference between drawing from YN and drawing from fangames. The project is released as a "Yume Nikki fangame" - it is credited as a derivative work of the original game. When you derive from another fangame, it does not become credited as an "[ynfg] fangame" so that credit is not provided the same way. I hope that makes sense. I do want to state that while I agree with and accept these allegations, I did not directly trace or steal assets. The only exception I can recall is using Madotsuki's sprite as a template to alter, and this will not be the case when the game comes back up - this was something I believed at the time was common and accepted. That was also a mistake. In trying to maintain an atmosphere similar to the original work, I took shortcuts that were unacceptable. If and when gen.loss is updated it will be revamped to a far greater extent, and I hope the quality and originality of the work will speak for itself and my growth on this matter.
