Need landscapes for a project? Some cute critters for your zine? How about photo reference of wildflowers for a cozy RPG? Joyous Judy's got you covered.
My mother-in-law, known to the world as Dr. Judith Young, left us a wealth of photos taken from all around the world. In honor of her legacy, I've shared those photos with a Creative Commons license for folks to use in their projects. The packs are offered FREE with a pay-if-you-want option.
Joyous Judy was an astrophysicist who taught at UMass, but she had a fantastic eye for composition and color. Mountains, critters, flowers, rainbows, and stunning sunsets were her favorite subjects. I can think of no better way to honor her legacy than sharing the moments in time she captured so others can make art.
Currently, six photobanks are live on my Darkheart Games page. The packs each contain 50-70 photos curated on a theme, all scanned at 600 DPI and ready for your filters, photobashing, remixes, and whatever else suits your needs. More packs will be made available as I work my way through the hundreds of photos she left behind.
And Judy, who loved whimsy and rainbows, was openly queer in a time and profession where that was a rare challenge, would be delighted to know her photos are out there in the world, inspiring others to create.
