It's been a while since my last post, in which I said that my next goal is a new update for Devil's Arcade.
While thinking of game modes for the 4th game mode pack, I found an idea for something special I wanted to do. Unfortunately, this idea kind of depends on other projects of mine and because I only have 1 other project released at the moment, the whole thing had to be postponed.
Right now I'm in somewhat of a "finding" phase, regarding ideas for projects I want to work on as well as programming patterns for Unity/C#.
Over the last year I learned so much about all kinds of programming related stuff, like dependency injection and a bunch of patterns. This may sound really cool, but in terms of gamedev this new knowledge slowed my recent progress to pretty much a complete halt.
It's like I have all this knowledge available, but no idea how to combine everything. I spend way too much time on thinking about how I'm gonna do stuff, instead of doing it, this may also sound like more of an advantage, but it has reached a point where I am just unable to make progress, because I'm just constantly questioning my approach, my code, my patterns, and so on.
So right now I am just trying to whip up a new development pipeline, to continue gamedev effectively.
If you have any tips for dealing with this kind of situation, I'd love to hear recommendations.
I don't really know how long all of this is going to take, but I will definitely be back soon, especially for the GMTK Game Jam I'll be back!
Thank you for following my gamdev journey!
