First off, let me say I'm really honored to have such a following. I didn't set out for fame, just to write the games that I wish existed, and make them available to like-minded individuals.
Right now I'm working on a quick adventure zine following the guidelines laid out in The Old School Referee. It's meant as an example of what the process actually looks like, as well as a fully playable fantasy adventure.
When I set out with this 3-zine project, I had originally planned a different adventure as the capstone, but I really do like where this one is going.
That said, I am having a lot of fun working on this adventure. I've even decided to illustrate it myself, despite the fact that I don't consider myself a professional artist. I want Referees to feel like the skills they have—whatever they have—are enough to make fun and interesting games.
So, my only question now is, what next?
Or, I suppose I could ask, what do you hope to see from me in the future?
Let me know in the comments!
For those still waiting on physical editions, I am right there with you. Lulu's giving me errors about MetaData, and DriveThru is starting to look good, but remains painfully slow in their processing time. Definitely by December though, right? (...right?)
Here are a few sneak peeks of the adventure zine I'm currently working on, "Abara Cad Ebra", a pear-growing village far from the crown, where folks live under the thumb of a Robber Baron and are supported by the best efforts of a young would-be-witch, Abara.
