With that pun out of the way, I'm excited to share that I have added tags to my sound samples! It may seem basic, but I only recently discovered how to implement them effectively thanks to the batch converter in Reaper. For the Unreal Marketplace, adding tags to the sound samples was not necessary and so I skipped that part for a long time. I also used the media explorer in Reaper to tag the Animal Sound Sample assets. In this asset pack, I was naming the artist after the recorded animal that was producing the sound. I hope this is not too unconventional.
I am still working on a major update for all my products. They are undergoing a very time consuming quality check. Most of my products were created a long time ago and have to meet my current quality standards since I plan to advertise them more extensively soon.
The Animal Sound Sample package will receive new high-quality sounds recorded in 32-bit using my newly acquired Zoom F3 and a diy parabolic microphone. While the older sound samples are of high quality, the recordings with this setup are significantly better. I will soon release another devlog focusing just on this topic alone.
Now, for the Destruction Sound Sample pack, I still need to find a specific date when I will smash a lot of ceramics, and the 32-bit recording is just right for capturing those sounds. Although I intend to do this as soon as possible, I have no specific date on when this update will happen.
Next on my bucket list is obtaining new sounds for the Water Sound Samples package . There are a few sounds that require a significant overhaul and this pack truly needs some high-quality underwater sounds. All of my attempts at recording sound underwater have not yielded the desired quality, so this is still something I need to work on.
Factory Sound Samples was one of my favorite asset packs because I had to get creative in designing the sounds. One thing that I considered was whether the price difference between the packs seemed odd. While this package has fewer sounds, the quality and the work put into those sounds were much more time-consuming than recording different sounds. For example, you can get a lot of recordings of a Blackbird because they sing in such a variety and quantity, that the only challenge lies in capturing them in the right quality. Therefore, these samples are much cheaper to produce. In comparison, the Factory Sound Samples required way more time and have a higher value for each sound asset compared to other packs I have created. Furthermore, this package will receive updates but I do not intend to raise its price regardless.
Lastly, Industrial Ambient Sound is my oldest asset pack that needs a complete overhaul. I will focus on creating sounds that are more ambient, resembling a whole industrial soundscape. While this asset package is centered on the soundscape, Factory Sound Samples is more intended for the sounds of the machines themselves. I recently built my own stereo microphone, and I will place it in locations with heavy industry. Hopefully, these recordings will be just what this project needs.
I hope to reach a point where I am recognized enough and I can expand my work further. In order to (re)fund my equipment investments and future updates, I will be having a larger sale in June, starting tomorrow. If any of the packages have caught your attention, I would greatly appreciate your investment in my products.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. Have a great day!
