Planning for SuNoFes 2024

A while ago, when I was still aspiring to be some graphics programmer type, I was inspired by Dangonronpa's unique visual novel presentation, and wanted to build something similar to it using C++. 

Many years ago, (closer to 20 years ago than not, now) I used Flash CS3 to create a project called "CourtEngine" that allowed playback of a custom Phoenix Wright scene. 

Visual Novels are an interesting medium with their own unique challenges. 

I've decided to join SuNoFes 2024 with the intention of creating a custom visual novel engine from scratch using Java and LibGDX.  Simply creating a bog-standard visual novel with LibGDX would take a solid minute on it's own, but it wouldn't be difficult. No, my current plan is to make an engine that plays back in a similar style to either Ace Attorney Investigations or Danganronpa and use it to tell a story in time for the jam.  

While I wrap up the rest of Chrono Flora, I plan to start prototyping some concepts before the jam starts.
