It is now Day 3 of the Pixel Jam and today I started off with concept art!
Here you can see our 2 little and big main characters + bubbles and water concepts In another note this wasn't really used for referencing... mostly just to get Ideas down as you can see in this video:
Calamari's sprite is way bigger than his hitbox just cause of how weird this movement system is it's good to provide lenience
Seal's sprite is very different from the concept sheet For his color I provided a blue tint to make it pop and to remedy Calamari's orange and his little arms paddling <3 Also you can see the bubbles sprite
my next goals were to A: add wind B: add an attack for Calamari
Calamari now shoots out ink from the opposite way he dashes (still deciding if this is the right way to go)
The wind will push you toward the left side and I reduced the number of projectiles in the wave attack. you can also see a variation of the whirlpool attack animation, instead of it just rotating it becomes 3..D? Pixel? ???
For the final video for today I finished the whirlpool animation added flying projectiles in the "Wind" attack just to remedy the projectile amount nerf. The background is also finished (Might change for better reading as everything blends in right now)
That's all for today tomorrow I'll likely work on Health systems and maybe a title screen? who knows 'till we get there, Come by this time tomorrow for another log!
