Fishing Pond v1.1

A new update is out for Pocket Idler: Fishing Pond! Wishlist on Steam!

Check out below these details for a list of changes.

The main focus of this version was to balance the game so that the player's popularity would increase at a more reasonable rate relative to the shop and decoration upgrades.

Before, the final costs of these two upgrades was significantly too high, I'm honestly not sure if I overlooked it, or just did the math wrong, but they're far more affordable with this new price balancing.

Out of this balancing, I also wanted to tackle the idea of bringing in more fisher people's. While this aspect might still be tweaked a little, there is an increase of the base number of customers that will show up, making the later game more interesting.

I wasn't able to pull this off before, but thanks to a new upgrade that allows you to extend that ponds max fish capacity up to 50, I was able to crank the spawn rate up to compensate for the larger number of fish sales. This does however set a new base maximum of 10, but any fish you have from a current save that goes over this new starting max will be refunded, and the costs to get back to 25 shouldn't be too bad if you're far enough along.

I will still be working with feedback and just more playtesting leading up to the Steam release later this week to ensure the game is as polished as it possibly can be.

Changes:
  • Added a Capacity upgrade for the pond. This lowers the starting amount to 10, and allows it to be increased up to 50. (any fish that go over this adjusted max from previous saves will be removed and their values refunded).
  • Increased the rate at which customers spawn as popularity increases to create a more interesting experience.
  • Added the ability to click on birds to collect coins from them.
  • Balanced the enticement of bait to better flow with the fish - before the 2nd fish could never be caught with the 1st level bait.
  • Added the ability to hover over the value of the fish from the stocking menu to see their value after the markup (what customers pay).
  • Changed the color of player's money to gold, and changed the gold icon in the ponds value to be a fish to help distinguish the two values.
