A couple points to start off with; I have finally decided what I'm *actually* going to do for my first game project and I'm absolutely fine with it being a steaming pile of trash because of Pirate Software's Thor, as he's said many times everyone's first game is garbage and it's ok, everyone has to start somewhere and this is where I'm starting because starting and being trash is infinitely better than never starting.
For my first game I just want to make a simple twin-stick shooter or something more reminiscent of the old 2D bullet hell type shooters with a little space ship like Galaga. This is only meant to be a way for me to learn more about Unreal and game development in general. As of right now I don't have any plans to release this project but I will keep myself open to the idea of releasing it if I feel like it's good enough later on and use that as a way to give myself experience with every aspect of game design from initial conception to release and post release support if this continues that long.
I have created a project in Unreal using a top down template which i plan on modifying into the desired format that I want to be using for the game I'm going to make. This post will serve as a milestone of when i started this journey, this is the first actual step, I'm not going to count all of the game ideas I've written down as being the first step because none of them have led anywhere yet. I still plan on trying to make them at some point but I'm going to begin with a smaller more manageable starting point.
