Game Dev Highs and Lows

Hey Bunnies/Gamers/Nerds and all others reading this,

I'm working on a lot and getting nowhere fast! I started working and uploaded my first prototype of a long running concept idea i had:

A roguelite, co-op survival horror about the dangers of self doubt and the fear of the supernatural.
(Wait that doesn't sound like something i made?)
You're right!

To test the main game mechanics and tease the main games story I decided to make a singleplayer (semi) roguelite game called Absurdium: Groundwork. That way i could soft launch into my universe with a little bit less work (like networking etc.) and learn more about the game design process as i went.
And it went great honestly, i think the game came a long way since the first upload and it only got better pretty quickly. But I was struggling with a lot of things and was mostly feeling down about the artistic side of the game. Not being really aesthetically minded, i wasn't making the assets just the scripts, meaning it was all free uncohesive assets.

Being annoyed at that i jumped into another project "Make a cup of coffee" which was a series of minigames, designed to quickly make me learn a lot of new things. physics, rigidbodies, character controllers, new and exciting camera angles!

And then on that high and learning about a new playing card game variant called "Sets and Runs" I jumped straight into trying to program that into an online game! Learning how to network finally. And that is taking a VERY long time.

So in between that i started "Lazy Dev" an attempt to make a full (short) game quickly using standard assets. using a cheap low poly kit and some free assets i began trying to build a semi comedic horror game from the perspective of a shopper in a small grocery store.  And suprisingly that is ALMOST playable.

TLDR?
LONNNG story short. I set out to make the Absurdium Series and ended up learning a lot about game design but never actually finishing the first game!
But I am working on a LOT of games and one book in the background that are in all different stages of completion and i'm going to try to complete those and THEN  begin re-work/completion on Absurdium Groundwork and also making Absurdium: Our House[TBD] which will be a 2d puzzle psychological horror in the same universe! And hopefully i can work hard and quickly to get those completed and playable for you guys!
