I wrote this 24 page game/zine over the past year or so and the result is the kind of game I’d happily spend a lazy afternoon with just building my character, their A.I. support, the threat they’re running from, and the world they find within the levels of the Kind Red Building. It’s part building crawl, part existential introspection, and hopefully somewhat bonkers sci fi stuff all in the mix just adds that soupcon of strange we can all appreciate.

I find solo writing rpgs inspiring and relaxing to both play and create. To create one of this size meant I could really play with pages of prompts and different angles the story could take. I used the rough structural outline of WRETCHED & ALONE and tweaked as needed/desired.

I’ve taken this rpg to Kickstarter because they run a ZineQuest month in February, so it felt right to align with that, but also I just wanted to be able to print off a small batch run of this game and get it out into the world for those who will dig it.

The pledge levels vary - you can buy in from $3, or go as high as $60 - it’s completely up to you, and here are those pledge levels!

I love having a cheap digital level on my Kickstarter campaigns, but if you want to go higher, fill your boots. I think the digital pledges, and the simple B&W zine is all good. If no one pledges above that, I don’t blame them - but I know sometimes people like a premium product, so I’m happy to oblige.

The campaign will run for the month of Feb. The game is all finished, so I’ll start printing once I know what our print run should be.

I’m really excited to be a part of the ZineQuest month. There’s something so satisfying about the DIY nature of these games and zines and it’s a departure from the other comics I’ve made.

Not to mention the chance to have a Sami Kivelä cover on another of my works. The guy has been an artistic partner of mine for over a decade, and he consistently brings me joy.
