I wanted to create a hex map quickly for an idea. The whole thing then started to revolve around the map itself. First I made this kind of a map, the tile-chunks being separate GameObjects:
The textures themselves are from LowlyPoly's Asset.
But then I wanted a seamless, "proper" terrain, so I started to procedurally make a map and shade it:
Well, that looks ugly, let's work on that! ... two (billion) clicks later:
That looks a bit better. But still there are things to work on.
