Sew Lovely Dev Log 1 - Return

Radio Silence

It's been a while since my last update on Sew Lovely. I have been very busy and the next update took a lot longer to finish than I had anticipated. I do regret being radio silent, but I feel like my game is not at that point yet where people are reading updates and re-installing the game to see what is new. Still, I want to post more often and do better.

I also struggle to show off my work in general, let alone stuff that is work in progress. Knowing this update would take months of work, I felt weird about sharing updates on work that won't appear for a long time. With that being said I plan on making dev logs more often to try and show off work in progress and keep everyone updated.

This update was a big one because it was initially planned to be 2 separate updates. An art update and an AI overhaul. However it became clear that I could not do my overhaul without new art so I decided to smash the 2 together for an update that would give the game a complete makeover.

What's coming in next update

This update has focused on bringing the quality of the game to a higher standard. The AI has seen a lot of improvements with reworks and new features. Their goal was to be less messy and feel less monotonous towards the end of the playthrough.

  • Skins for enemies, and complete new character designs for some
  • Deeper enemy sandbox: Multiple attack system. sleeping, interrupt attacks etc.
  • 5 new levels and changes to the latter difficulty flow
  • Difficulty tweaks
  • Flashy new player thread
  • Sort of tutorial level implemented to level 1

This will be out later today and I will do patch notes for it. Just wanted to write about my absence before anything else :)
