Devlog 5 - Preproduction

Concept Art Examples for Art Bible

This appears in the art bible to guide other artist also making concept art for the game. Figure 1

The producer end of preproduction has been difficult this semester. I had to rework the master schedule to reduce the time required to hit the appropriate deadline that we did not know about prior to this semester. That said the team did manage, I created a master schedule and asked the team if we could manage it everyone is willing to give the more aggressive schedule a try. We have extra weeks of padding to get it done and polish so I am hopeful for the direction. We used Josh's provided schedule as a template and we are creating our backlog in Jira. On top of doing some producing I got to do some tile map and concept art work. I created an art bible with tips and tricks to match my style and advice on how to handle our more common art tasks like a diagram of how I would approach a concept art task. (Figure 1) I was happy to get to get back to my comfort zone and make some art.  Tilemap

This is the basic tilemap for rooms so the level design team can start making "greybox" levels. Figure 2

Beyond that I facilitated my team in any questions they had about interdependencies on tasks and ran the meetings we held.
