New Unreal Engine Project

DEVLOG #1

This is the beginning of a new Unreal Project along side my friend, there is a clear set path to the workflow and designing of this project, along with a few unfinished ideas.

Right as I got into the workflow, Unreal Engine 5 decided to wholeheartedly welcome me with a memory access violation error on boot. However, I did come up with few rudimentary fixes for this nuisance:-

  • Restoring NVIDIA Video Settings to default for the application
  • Increasing the Windows Paging file size [Not recommended]
  • Going into the project file settings and changing the project from DirectX12 to DirectX11
[Even though I own a DX12 GPU, this worked for me]
  • Update Windows [Because they are cruel]

Unfortunately doing all of this nearly took me an entire day, not to mention that the editor symbols for debugging are almost 80GB!

[SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS]

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home Single Language 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core Processor
  • Memory: 16384MB RAM
  • DirectX Version: DirectX 12
  • Chip type: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER
  • Page File: 7946MB used, 11807MB available
