WinterDream's 2024 resolution

Happy new year everyone!

WinterDream returned from the ashes in 2023 and I must say I'm pretty happy with the new start!

In a few month I waltzed from a shy plugin making to a deeper understanding of the RPG Maker MZ engine, plus I published my first tutorial!

I want to go big in 2024 so here are my plans for the first quarter of this new year!


Plugins:

  • Cards Battle is dead, long live Cards Battle: When you code a single plugin for months you start to see all the flaws of your inexperience so I took the hard decision to start over the work on the Cards Battle plugin. It won't be a complete reset, but I need to work from new fundations! Don't worry, works will go faaaaster!
  • New Game + / Roguelike Plugin: With the newfound skill in manipulating JSON files, I think that a plugin that works around the possibility of adding those two elements to the game might be a good addition to the collection
  • Point & Click - like adventure plugin: "Push", "Pull", "Talk", "Use"... this will be a challenging plugin as I intend to do a double take on those commands, a retro style with the commands bar below the game screen (Old Lucas Art style) and a modern style with a command pop up when clicking on an element
  • Factions, Relationships & Traits - Premium: An upgrade of the Factions plugin with a customizable in-game menu. Will be free for anyone who already got the plugin.
  • As always, improvements and bug crushing on the existent plugins

Games:

  • Once finished the new BattleCards plugin, there is nothing more needed for my Middlemoon Project (beside minor stuff that won't delay the development). So yes, finally I'll start working on my first game since the return and I hope to deploy a demo in the first quarter of the month (that will be loooong before the release of the game)

  • Map Making Hints: Some precious hints on how to create maps in RPG Maker MZ
  • Cutscene Detailed: A more in depth guide on how to do Cutscenes
