Oops! All Dishonored! (Screenshot Saturday)

https://twitter.com/dancingengie/status/1738582736552837130

I’ve been trying to realize a weird idea I had these past few weeks. Basically, what if Dishonored’s Blink ability was an actual physical object? Something like throwing bolts in STALKER, but the bolts can bounce around, slide down slopes, and basically be a throwable checkpoint/teleport. Also, what if immersive sims were even more breakable (literally)?

I don’t know where I’m going to do with this (probably a magical-realist heist game). If nothing else, the comic shader’s very impressive, that’s something I’ll use in the future either way.

Finally, this is a Godot project. Yeah, did you forget Unity’s Big Oopsie already? Because I didn’t! I think the engine has a long way to go, especially on the 3D side of things. But it’s genuinely impressive, even doing some things better than ol’ faithful Unity. Kudos to the contributors and maintainers.

P.S. this entire post is a test to see what the itch.io personal blogging system is worth again. It didn’t get as much love from the devs as I would have hoped, which is a shame because I think it’s a genuinely good idea. I mean, outside of shitposting to your followers.

I think Godot's a good choice, too! Still getting into it myself, it looks we're using it for similar reasons/gen That idea also sounds really nice, tbh/pos
