Developer Q&A - December 2023

The questions have been asked and the answers are here! Let's see the answers! I've touched up the spelling/grammar/formatting on these questions in order to make it more legible.

"How is your day to day life going? Are you well?"

Thanks for asking! I'm doing just fine. Had a recent check-up and my vitals are great! Doing this for a living, I do have to live sparsely in some areas, but luckily, I don't require much to keep me occupied or entertained.

"Would you want any help coding and developing? Your games have amazing concepts, and I would love to help making them..."

I appreciate the offer, but I don't have any plans to work with anyone on games anytime soon. The games are small enough in scope and have a timeline that I need to keep track of, so the more people to manage, the more things risk the project being disrupted in some way. I like the freedom that working on a project by myself gives me both in scheduling, and in creativity.

In the future, when I move on to new game engines and experiment more with other game genres, I may be on the look out for code/plug-ins that I can purchase to use and save me some time like I've done with the Yanfly bundle and other code packages for RPG Maker, but the closest I will come to working with a coder or developer is commissioning them to make a specific plug-in for me. At the moment, I only really see myself doing that if/when I do a project that involves multiplayer or persistent online functionality.

"When Lustfall fully comes out, will there be a way for casuals who want to breeze through or just see the story of the lewds to be able to enjoy them without needing to go through too much trouble (Shortcuts, super weapons, etc...)? "

It really depends on how I am feeling when I am able to finish it and release it to everyone. I am ready to move on from Lustfall, to be honest, and I don't want to pour a lot of extra time into it once it's done for features that few people will use. While there are some people interested and willing to support Lustfall financially, unless that number increases between now and the final release, I simply won't be able to afford to spend more time working on it than I already have.

I would love for fans to share their "Save" folders with others in the future!

"Where did you get the idea for Lustfall from? Did you have the whole thing planned from the start or did you alter the plot significantly as you went on?"

So, back when I was working office jobs, I got bored and horny on the weekends. I always wanted to make my own card game, so I would go through DA and Pixiv looking at different art and used them to make cards for my own, private enjoyment. I had all of these cards, but I wanted to play with them. I started looking into using RPG Maker to simulate a card game of sorts.

Since I prefer to be on the receiving side of things, I realized it would be easier if the enemies used the cards as their attacks, while I, as the player, would fight them in a more asymmetrical sense. I started to design things as an RPG adventure game with some vague, hot scenarios that I wanted to work towards.

Using RPG Maker and designing the shore that Gwen wakes up on in the beginning of the game re-ignited the passion for game design that I had previously lost ages ago after finishing college and the few years following.

From there I formed ideas of places I wanted to create, based heavily on the hundreds of these cards that I have made and the themes that connected them. The Studium Amare came about because I had a lot of cards with people in school uniform cosplay bondage. Cryscorp, the digital archives part, was originally going to be more of a library, like the Ancient Library from Final Fantasy 5.

As for the plot? I just threw a bunch of stuff out there at first, with a vague idea of a few story beats, and then started to tie all of the loose ends together when I thought it would be a cool moment to do so. Charlie was originally planned to be someone mentioned by Syn and nothing more, for example, but as I was making the Petrified Forest, I thought it would be more interesting if he was an actual character and had a strong reason for disappearing on her.

"Will there be another bimbofication game like Damsels of Vice ?"

I would like to make Damsels of Vice 3, but the numbers for DoV and DoV2 show that there's a lot less interest in the series. As for something that focuses mostly on bimbofication? Probably not. I love it and future games will definitely have elements of it (like The Capture Games), but I like having a little bit that appeals to a variety of people. It helps them as kinksters explore and grow (as it did me) and keeps things fresh and exciting!

"How did you get the idea for the Victoria’s Body games? "

It came from an idea for a d20 play-by-post game I had an idea for a while back that I wrote down and hid in a notebook (back when I still had shame, lol!). The concept was that enemies would transform a part of adventurers trying to beat an evil in a castle. Instead of HP, your body would be gradually transform into the enemy attacking you, which would affect your stats, change your attacks, and give passives. If you were completely transformed, you would become another enemy and begin turning on your party members!

I dug it up in 2020 when I was really struggling to get another corpo job and wanted to see if people would actually buy a game that I made, since the Lustfall Patreon was not doing as well as I had hoped nearly a year into it.

I used Victoria, an RP character of mine, and built the premise around that.

"How did Victoria, Lucy, Hanaja, and Veronica all meet each other? "

Victoria and Hanaja have known each other for eons. Victoria and Lucy know each other because the castle Victoria took over to call her home is, in some ways, Lucy. Her entire being is bound to the castle itself, so in a sense, she is the castle... kind of...

As for Veronica? Well, there's a game that explains the whole story! You might have heard of it,it's called Veronica's Body. ;)

"How long do each of the bad ends last, on average, before the protagonist snaps out of her trance?"

That's a good question! Long enough for you, the player, to really enjoy the fantasy.

"How Did You Decide On The Transformations For Victoria’s Body games?"

Aside from the Magical Woman transformation, that I saw someone talking about when I was lurking in discord/on a forum, I decided to stick to traditional and popular themes that would be fun. Hucows, Maids, and Bimbos are all classic kinky things and each one had a little bit of a different type of humiliation for Victoria to endure, so it made things really fun to write for and design.

For the other games, I mostly go off of ideas that sound interesting for fun to explore. Hanaja's Body, for example, I wanted to combine themes of kink with a non-human/furry element to it (since Hanaja herself is a demon, she's already not a human).

"Have you thought about doing a remaster of Victoria's Body now that you have more game development experience and an improved art style?"

I've actually thought about it quite a bit and so far I've decided to hold off (I'm not Naughty Dog, so I can go more that 0.21435 seconds without announcing a remake/remaster lol!). Victoria's Body still sells well for coming out 3 years ago and I don't want to cannibalize my own sales. By having "better" version out, people will stop buying the OG version, which is kind of like not releasing a new game at all (something that I don't have the luxury to do just yet).

I also don't want to erase Cev's work (the artist I commissioned for Victoria's Body). She did a fantastic job with the characters and TFs, and deserves to have her work visible to the world!

There may be a time when I do remake VB, but unless I can really make it stand apart from the original, I probably won't for quite some time.

"A while back you mentioned that you were considering making a game based almost solely around latex and corruption. Did you ever put any real thought into that?"

I wish I could remember what I was thinking about at the time, I'm sure I had some interesting ideas cooking... So, I guess I haven't. That being said, sort of opposite to the bimbo answer, I'd still consider making a game focused around latex/corruption! I like it that much and I think, from a business aspect, the market is more interested in that as opposed to just bimbo things.

The trick would be to make a game with the theme while allowing the concept to grow or evolve in some way. There are great games like Latex Dungeon out there (with fantastic art), but I personally feel that the latex/corruption aspect doesn't change with the game. The first corruption is the same as the last. I'd have to have an idea of how I could take it beyond what has already been done.

That's all the questions for this one! That was a lot of fun, thank you all for asking the spicy Qs! I'd love to do this every once in a while, so if you have questions, you can leave them below, on discord, twitter, bluesky, patreon, and/or subscribestar!
