Working on 3rd Title

Hello the few people following me :-)

Firstly, thank you for showing interest in my work and following an amateur.

I am currently working on the third project in what I have decided will be connected to the first 2 titles in a sort of shared universe situation. Hopefully it will be interesting enough, but we'll see. I am up for comments, recommendation or suggestions on all projects that are and will be, so feel free to leave a helpful comment ... a hint / tip ...  a glorious piece of advise ... or an attack (Hell, I'm all for it!).

As I learn new code, inevitably, each project is going to be more complicated than the last. So we'll see if the studio name of ETLHTM will hold up in the end.  We all start somewhere right!

As it stands, I am using GameMakerStudios2. I love that program and have had it for years, but not really done anything with it.

Lastly, I am doing this PURELY for fun ... so if interest does grow and demand increases ... don't expect a timetable or schedule ... I've always found that the instant a hobby becomes a job ... interest begins to change into requirement, and I don't want that.

Thanks again and see you soon!

Station-X is done ... so far as I am happy with it.  There will undoubtably be a few bugs and glitches along any playthrough ... but what an experience of learning! I feel that any future titles I make will benefit greatly from the knowledge I have gained with this project. It may not be perfect, but it served its purpose well!
A few lessons through this process were...
* "Always have and maintain a clean and organized code" ... I found that adding things along the way without an overall control code or pattern, made for a very difficult time locating the particular codes I was looking to change. Since I use GameMakerStudios2, all code is embedded in objects. So, if you are using an object-based programming system, always have a REFERENCE OBJECT that holds all commonly used variables.

* "Have an end goal and stick to it" ... don't get me wrong ... creating as you go is a lot of fun, especially when you learn a new thing and want to incorporate it into your project. And spontaneity can be amazing, just look at "Whose line is it anyway". BUT! Having an end in sight and staying to that path ... although challenging ... is always the right idea.

* "I am NO ARTIST!" ... this one is kind of unique for everyone obviously ... some people can create astonishing art with not but a pencil and paper ... I however ... will stick to imaging how amazing something could look instead of trying to create it myself :-P I'll leave that artistry to far more talented people.

* "Time management is hard" ... I first tried to tell myself ... at least 1 hour per day, that didn't seem that bad. But 1 hour a day ... during a hot summer ... after working a full-time job ... living on a farm ... in this expensive economy ... being tired ... having to be a 'mature' adult ... ... turned out to be a big ask. So, to stick to my original thoughts ... I will program ... when and ONLY WHEN I feel like it to avoid forcing myself.

I hope to make more projects in the future, and I hope to hear any thoughts / suggestions for future improvements.

Thanks again for your support!

Putting the finishing touches on the 3rd title now. I have to stop developing this new one ... or I'm going to just keep thinking about things to add to it ... and then it would never be finished.
I've gained A LOT of knowledge about object-based programming and the limitations that has. As well as the advantages of creating global systems so that nothing gets lost in the pages of code ...
Hopefully this will be enjoyable for people and provide a little bit more than 10 minutes of fun!
See you soon!

Still working on the next title. This one will have a more MISSION based gameplay with multiple locations. It will still be simple in style and easy to understand, but with much more depth than previous titles.

I will say it now ... there will be bugs ... but I will only be releasing this once I'm happy with the state of it.  I don't like bugs and you guys shouldn't have to accept them either ....

As of right now ... it looks terrible :-) ... but I want it to have functional strength before I go and pretty it up.

Thanks again, and catch whomever soon!
