Heyo folks! I'm on holiday vacation now (mostly) with time for family and time for personal game development. Over the last half year, I've been unwinding from Daughter of Dreams, and finding a new direction. In this update I will share my plans for the immediate future--though the exact time frame is intentionally indeterminate. Each project is listed in the rough order I plan to finish them.
I will release JenScripts update v3.0, with the cleaned-up code and many new features. I will probably release the features first, and finish writing the documentation later. I am currently about 80% done with v3.0.
Rocco's Bramble Ramble post-jam version will be released. Our team has been working on that weekly for most of the year and we want to wrap it up (ideally) before Global Game Jam 2024, which I will be participating in again.
The Last Librarian and Daughter of Dreams will get bug fixing and quality-of-life updates. This will NOT be new features or content (except maaaybe a few since I can't resist). Just a maintenance pass to make sure the games still work for new players.
My new main project--Arcanaclysm--will get its first public release. Arcanaclysm is an epic fantasy roguelike with Metroidvania meta-progression. I finally have a confident design and have begun development (I've resumed devstreams too). Arcanaclysm will start much smaller than most of my projects, but I plan to release regular content updates for as long as there is continued interest.
Hopefully, all that will happen in the next few months. Then I will fully focus on Arcanaclysm, building it up until I get bored of making it. I'll write more about Arcanaclysm later--this is just an overview, for now. See you in 2024!
