VR interaction - Uni Project (up2056862)

This is the beginning of my Blog for my VR interaction project for Uni.

I will use this page to discuss what has went well and what hasn't overall throughout this project, I will mainly use Unreal Engine 5 for this project, I have never used UE5 to create VR interactions (or anything at all for that matter)

This Blog will be used to keep Track of both my progress, Struggles and successes throughout the project. We have to complete 3/8 of the challenges set, which are:

  • An interactive and animated button and lever interaction system
  • An in-game painting tool where the player can pick up a brush and paint onto a canvas
  • An interactive radial menu as an in-game smartwatch, attached to the player’s wrist
  • A remote-control/drone mechanic
  • A small domestic room in which some of the furniture can be re-textured in game
  • An interactive door system
  • A main menu system using only 3D, diegetic/in-world components
  • A ladder mechanic where the player can use their hands to physically climb

I'm still unsure which of these 8 I will end up choosing, I think I will do the button and lever interaction system and the door though as they seem to be good starting points for this project and will be the simplest for while I'm learning how to use UE5. I will most likely use a YouTube tutorial to get started. But yeah welcome to my blog!
