The first thing to note is my lack of experience with Android Studio. I typically use Neovim, and even when I use an IDE, it's not a JetBrains Product. (Android Studio is based on IntelliJ IDEA)
I had no idea how to make a login screen a separate page from the rest of the pages, and I didn't know how to make it the focus on the app's startup.
Every time the app started, I landed on the blank Home page, which obviously isn't a login screen.

Of course, there are other activity types you can use, with different templates and whatnot, but I enjoy making something from scratch. (Not that Scratch)
