Channel 35: The Void Caller

Channel 36: The Void Caller by Starshine Scribbles

You are the newest employee at a small local-access tv station. Every night someone or something hacks into the prerecorded broadcasts and plays distorted, disturbing messages. Will you flee? Will you fight? Or will you embrace whatever it is that’s calling?

The game is played in night-shift cycles. Each night you draw 4 cards from the minor deck and resolve their prompts. Some prompts will have you put toothpicks on top of a water bottle, and should they fall, you will need to draw a major arcana card to represent how you are being affected by the broadcasts.

Each major arcana is a part of a set, and once you have completed 1 of 3 sets, the game is over. Which set you complete will determine which ending you get. The face cards of the minor set also allow you to put some of the major cards back into the deck, which can lead to a rather long game.

I ended up modifying the rules so I didn’t return any of the major cards and drew an additional major card each night, since my game ended up being very long and I was returning more cards than I was drawing.

I played as someone who was certain there was something ‘HERE’ to be discovered but ended up getting to freaked out to continue and ended up fleeing. You can read my playthrough HERE
