Wicked Island 0.8.3 released!

Lots of major changes in this version, which is why it took so long to be pushed out.

I personally think its in a much better state visually. There are still some rougher issues that needs to be adressed and some new ones not in before. Check out the change notes below to see whats new.

Change Notes

Added

  • Reaper enemy (no sex animations as of yet, full version only)  
  • Satyr enemy (full version only)
  • Archdemon enemy (no sex animations as of yet, full version only)
  • Horse mount (full version only)
  • Barrels/urns/props now destructible in general for a nice satisfying dungeon rampage
  • Console widget with ability to do console stuff (cheat, spawn in items, enemies etc)
  • Physics based hit reactions (needs some finetuning, can look janky on some enemies)
  • Added support for Nvidia DLSS 3 and frame generation under graphics settings (only visible if supported by GPU)
  • Added footstep sounds for more materials that change depending on barefoot/wearing boots
  • Horse mount (full version only)
  • Ranged combat for the player using a shortbow
  • Added berry pie, fish, fish stew, grilled fish, meat sandwich, feral meat etc as food items
  • Added fertility potion that ensures impregnation while under the effect
  • Loot drop animation instead of lootable corpses
  • Status effect for when sheltered, sheltered effect will apply when under a player built roof or tent
  • Humanoid intelligent characters will now have randomly picked names suited for their race and sex, these names should persist between saves  
  • Followers will now get exp whenever the player does, if they are following the player. They can also level up and become stronger
  • Added ambushes during night (not just when sleeping)
  • Added 4 wildling female lesbian animations
  • Added 2 new wildling male animations
  • Added 2 new minotaur animations (thanks to UnknownPlayer and Kerangor for making them!)
  • Added NPC fisherman and tutorial questline
  • Footsteps sounds and effects for the player depending on material they are running on as well as if wearing boots or not.
  • New map system, map can be opened using M, you can place markers on the map (right click) and remove by clicking again. Compass will change color when nearby enemies and also show discovered or undiscovered points when nearby, fast traveling should also work now along with points of interestA toggle to enable volumetric fog (disabled by default, was disabled before)
  • Summon recepies for Wereboar, Satyr, Minotaur, Reaper and Archdemon
  • Status effect when carrying too much
  • Player will be sheltered as soon as below something (like indoors, in a cave etc)
  • Face light, a light attched to camera to luminate the player. Power is dependend on camera distance and time of day
  • a small river as a test for rivers in the larger map
  • A bunch of clutter in the abandoned villageAdded a new painting model
  • Added a bunch of enemies in the cave
  • Magnetic pickups for loot items
  • Some impact vfx and sound to smashing ground with spear
  • A camera light to freecam
  • Blood Sound effect when hitting enemies
  • Horse whistle input to summon horse (h key) (only works in full version)
  • Clothes in main menu and a toggle to show/hide them

Changed

  • Upgraded engine version to 5.3.1
  • All loot (except dropped by the player) automatically gets picked up within a certain range
  • Changed lockpicking chance from 10% to 70% success chance
  • Summons can now only be created using babies, no more severed dicks
    Player now gets 1 additional max defeat point every 3 levels instead of every 6 levels
  • Rebalanced enemy difficulty points, their attribute stats and converted troll, satyr and female wildling to ranged
  • Increased drop-rate for flower seeds
  • New and better system for wounds on player/enemies when hit
  • Changed when and how hitstop, camera shake and hit effects are applied to avoid applying it to non-characters
  • Replaced most, if not all, enemy animations to make them more unique and fluent
  • Changed AI for enemies to act more natural as well as have more behaviours
  • Changed walking speed of injured to 200 (from 100)
  • Replaced images on loading screen
  • Changed spear attack animations for player  
  • Changed unarmed attack animations for player  
  • Changed 2h sword attack animations for player
  • Tweaked several other animations
  • Changed swimming animations
  • Increased attack speed of several animations
  • Upgraded shaders and optimized all armors (including reducing clipping) for much better visuals  
  • Replaced and added some skin textures for better variety and quality on the player
  • Updated player skin shaders to look slightly better
  • Blood splatters will now go in random directions instead of always going in the same direction  
  • Replaced multiple item drop meshes and icons
  • State of weather/time of day should now be saved between sessions
  • State of pregnancy should now be saved between sessions
  • Increased buffs for food overall  
  • Rebalanced crafting cost of all food items
  • Rebalanced loot lists for all enemies
  • When player dies a chest will spawn with the players items, a light will indicate its location, chest should persist between saves
  • Saving is now only possible when not in combat, not mounted, not in a scene and not swimming or falling, same goes for entering dungeons (as this saves the game)
  • Increased pregnancy duration slider max from 3x to 10x time. Base time varies for different creature types
  • Increased base duration of pregnancy for all creatures, 300s for werewolf, satyr, nightmare, wereboar, 600s for werebear, troll, human, ogre 900s for minotaur, reaper, drake 1200s for dragon, archdemon
  • Made som changes to skills in terms of requirements, also added Wise for EXP gain multiplier
  • Made ambushes more varied in terms of how many and what spawns, also made them SIGNIFICANTLY harder, if you are not sheltered during the night ambushes might mess you up royally!
  • Changed Isabell's visual appearance
  • Isabell wont take your shit anymore, be warned!
  • Reworked several of the sex animations due to new enemy meshes
  • Replaced all 3 troll animations with new unique ones
  • Changed drake dick model
  • Replaced the dialogue and quest system, which should make for much easier content creation in terms of quests/dialogue branching. The only visual difference will be the dialogue UI
  • Increased and replaced Isabells dialogues with a lot more content. Also changed the dick collector quests into a pregnancy quest.
  • Changed Dragon dialogue options and questline
  • Increased max and decreased minimum camera zoom levels
  • Removed depth of field
  • Reduced distance blur (for very far away landscape/cliffs/trees)
  • Changed default motion blur to 0
  • Disabled Chromatic Aberration
  • Tweaked multiple sky/atmosphere paramters, like bigger sun/moon, longer dawn/dusk. shorter nights etc
  • Wasps will now be extra annoying by charging forward, sting you then retreat back before charging back in
  • Foliage interaction wont distort as much anymore
  • Wind will now affect foliage and grass in a much nicer way
  • Replaced grass and landscape materials
  • Attacks now cost stamina, different values based on which kind of attack
  • All characters should now have foliage, snow, puddle interactions based on their feet
  • Replaced 1h attack and locomotion animations
  • Tweaked 2h attack animations
  • Tweaked running animation when unarmedtweaked loot lists to drop branches and some other stuff
  • Rebalanced armors (reduced armor, increased secondary bonus)
  • Added weapon trails to 2h sword and spear
  • Changed out of breath sound to only play when below 10% energy and not that frequentlyEnemies will now investigate if the notice a projectile hitting something
  • If an enemy gets hit, other enemies nearby will rush to assist

Performance

  • Optimized code for NPC animations to run in a separate thread
  • Optimized NPC skin shaders
  • Optimized several enemy meshes to use fewer drawcalls
  • Optimized player materials and shaders
  • Several minor code optimizations
  • Optimized player animation code to run in a separate thread 

Fixed

  • Blood decals will no longer affect character meshes (looked wierd)
  • Mining should now work properly
  • Dragons no longer die from fall damage when landing
  • Attacks will no longer trigger multiple hits during the same attack
  • Time of day should now advance on full map
  • Scene UI should now be removed after birth
  • NPC's should no longer disappear when loading/going too far away
  • Buildings should no longer dissapear when loading/changing levels
  • Bears should no longer teleport when hit
  • Crafting que should now be saved and loaded
  • Fixed a potential issue with level data not loading properly
  • HP regen gained from determinationBronze sword now craftable at workbench
  • icon for crafting bench in inventory

Known issues

  • Futas are probably even more broken now, havent revamped them yet
  • Console commands is not working yet even if terminal can be spawned
  • Wildling male armor has no textures
  • Trolls do wierd stuff with their bows then arrows somehow come out
  • Arrows does not stick to things
  • Landmark discovery status not saved properly when loading
  • Loading presets only loads 1 morph at a time. This seems to be an engine issue in 5.3 and i cant find a fix for now. If you spam the preset the morphs will update 1 at a time until all are applied. They should still apply on the character in the game, this only seems to affect the main menu preview.
  • Arms randomly goes black, usually fixed when changing skin texture a few times. Also seems to be an engine bug, thanks Epic!
