Yep, you heard that right. Pinori is in development once again... as a Python script.
I've been taking a computer science class for a while now and thanks to it, I'm pretty familiar with the basics of Python and Replit. I never thought I'd be taking a class that I ACTUALLY ENJOYED for real high-school credits, but here I am, and now I'm finally getting somewhat in touch with one of the hobbies I thought I'd drop forever: coding!!!
For YEARS, the only coding language I had properly picked up was the built-in Windows Batch language. It was buggy, limited, and boring, yet 11-year-old me managed to make not one, not two, not even three--over NINE "batch operating systems" with these limitations. Granted, they're pretty barebones and shitty (and version 6.5 is password protected, god knows what the password is), but what matters is I had fun with what I did. Now that I'm 16 and I want to make more serious projects, my old friend Batch just doesn't cut it anymore. I need more powerful tools. Thanks to the aforementioned computer science class, I've now grasped the basics of one of those tools: Python.
I've been dying to make progress on Pinori for ages now. Three whole years and the game basically still doesn't even exist yet. After remembering an old game concept by an old friend and watching Magic the Noah for so long, I thought...
"Wait... what if I demade my game into a text adventure script with Python?"
And so, the development of PyNori begins as of October 16, 2023.
This time, you'll DEFINITELY get some results.
The game page is now publicly available. If you want a direct link without going to my profile, here it is: https://shirley-xml.itch.io/pynori
