Hi everyone this Ram2010a, I have an urgent message:
Hi everyone, I have been using a very well-known game engine and then something happened this month. I think everyone here can guess what that is if I name the game engine. It rhymes with boo-to-me but starts with a U. All jokes aside I'm moving to one of the backup game engines I have been learning alongside others. I have never released a commercial gam. I have years of experience and knowledge. I have always wanted to make video games for a living. I have over 10 years of Unity experience and other software. I won't go into too much detail but in January of 2023, I made a pledge to myself and my family that I would make a game this year even if it was a small game, and release it. I just need it to show the smallest of revenue coming in. I'm a family man so it goes without saying that in everything I do, I put my family first even if it means that I put my dreams on the back burner. Well, I'm at the age where I will either have to give up on my dreams completely and go back to school and get a technical job like an Hvac tech or take my one last shot and make it happen. The reason I'm writing this long post is I only have 3 months left to publish a game or games that will prove to me and my family that I can do this and pursue this. I guess I'm looking for some accountability to help me. Time is running out, I'm going to start off with small games and work my way up. My goal is to get at least $1100 by January and to maybe be on the path to make that a month off of my games. That will show me and my family that this is something that is real and I don't have to get a 2nd job or go back to school to pursue other careers than video game development. I consider myself blessed as I'm not in dire straits. I'm just like every other working American who needs a little more income to make sure their family is comfortable. It's not about the money. I want to put out all the games and ideas I have into the world. For me, that would be just the biggest blessing to see that people enjoy the games I make and I can keep making them and not give them up. Please support me and keep me on the path of game development.
