Hello!
Welcome to the ramblings of a single developer on his quest to defeat scope creep (and is currently losing horribly).
This post is an introduction to the premise of my game, Little Gravekeep, as well as a description of what has been completed so far.
So what is Little Gravekeep?
You play as a Gravekeeper. You did your job well and lived your life comfortably. However, everything, including your own life, must come to an end eventually... Right?
You shut your eyes one final time, but they open once more. You see images you never expected to see again. A forest filled with trees, grass underneath you, a summer sky complete with a bright sun, and a sense of profound peace. That peace quickly fades, as a crow perched on a nearby tree branch welcomes you to your next 100 days. Gravekeepers in this world don't get to move on peacefully, at least, not without completing one final challenge. The dead you watched over in life? They were not resting. They were in another plane fighting to crawl back to the mortal world, and the only reason they didn't is because of someone just like you, a Gravekeeper at the end of his life. Can you be as successful as them? Or fail, letting a horde of undead pour back into your old world, dooming yourself to an eternity filled with creative punishments performed by beings too mighty for you to comprehend.
In Little Gravekeeper, every day is a race against time to collect materials. Every night is a desperate struggle to fend off hordes of the undead. Survive 100 days of this, and maybe you will reclaim that peace you felt.
