Announcing: A world of Desert Sun
Some worlds find themselves in the perfect place. Just far enough from their star not to boil, and just close enough not to freeze. The desert world of Novera does not sit in such a place. It flies just a little too close to its star, and as such, is nearly waterless.
What little water remains in its ecosystem is locked in three sources; the northern and southern polar oceans, and the bodies of great Sand Wyrms that tunnel beneath the scorching surface.
The Persaean Basin is the most habitable region of Novera, formed in the impact crater of a great magical meteorite known as The Arcanosphere.
Those who dwell in this region have taken to vast travelling settlements to allow them to search for water more easily. These colossal works of Arcano-Tech are known as Podothalmic Settlements, named for a genus of animal whose original characteristics have long since been lost to time.
The Persaean Basin
The Persaean Basin is a system-agnostic TTRPG setting I'm currently developing, inspired by works like Dune, H.P. Lovecraft, Mortal Engines and...
Crabs.
The world is populated by moving settlements, and host to many deities, both AI and more... mythical in nature. The guide I'm currently writing should be a complete manual for running games in the setting, featuring detailed lore and gameplay suggestions for everything from the technology to the gods to the creatures native to this world. The Basin is also only one region of Novera, so there is infinite homebrewing possibility for other regions, from the Polar forests and oceans to other regions of the desert and even both of the planet's twin moons.
Coming Soon
I plan to publish the second volume of the BBoB before turning my attention fully to finishing this setting guide, so expect infrequent updates until then. If you'd like to stay up to date with this and my other projects, make sure to follow this page :)
As always; have a great day!
See you again soon.
