Crazy to think that the demo hasn’t even been out for a week yet, and yet the response has been truly overwhelming. Thank you all so much for playing the game, chatting about it with your friends, leaving thirsty comments, and any other way you’ve interacted with Speakeasy. It’s surreal to see something we’ve worked so tirelessly on for years come to fruition, and it’s thrilling that the final piece of the puzzle is finally here — you all, the players!
We hope you’ll continue to join us on this journey, through the Kickstarter up to the full game release. And of course we’ll keep you looped in every step of the way. Now for our development updates…
Programming for the full game is underway. There were so many learning experiences from the demo; while I’m so proud of what we accomplished, we also know we can and will do so much more — including more immersive UI and sound effects, more polished sprite movements and animations, and of course, more choices and endings.
Aura has developed a superb Kickstarter, and we have tons of rewards and stretch goals that we look forward to sharing with you all when it launches on July 1. Riss is continuing to create gorgeous representations of every Speakeasy character.
We’ve mentioned before that the game is already fully written; this is true. However, in creating the demo (and playing it ourselves), we discovered an opportunity for a truly delectable, depraved ending that we can’t resist giving you all. So I’ll be working on writing that end (and I absolutely can’t wait). Talk again soon!
