Yep, looks like I still have to get the hang of this.
I decided it was time to split the project in two parts: the web version and the standalone downloadable game. The latter being pretty much identical to whatever I've been doing so far.
Promoting the web version of REC/REW to the grade of full-fledged "sub-project" with its own dedicated assets and backgrounds and whatever (which simply are a downscaled version of those I'm using for the standalone version ofc) brought a lot of unexpected issues. While I was pretty sure I had to do something more than just copy-pasting whatever change I make... yeah I did not expect there was so much stuff to look for.
Anyways, I now feel I've managed to roll out a much cleaner and streamlined version and I can devote my attention to the next chunk of my visual novel. I made a list of the assets and sprites I'm going to need for the next release, and I'm currently evaluating the existing material to see wheter I *really* need to build new cgs/sprites/background rather than living off of the resources I already have at hand...
