Dev 3

I have been quite satisfied with the amount of progress made in this last while. Since my last development log, we have implemented nearly all feedback from our playtest sessions, as well as finished up the final act of the game. Moreover, we have reworked most upgrades, and added many new visuals to the game. Overall, I am very confident with the state the game is at the moment. Though there are some minor bugs (mostly visual), and some issues with accessibility, we are hoping to get those all ironed out in the coming weeks.

Image: Cosmetic improvements, such as fish visuals and textures, have greatly improved the visual fidelity of the game since the last update. There are still certain visual bugs with prices not updating, objects spawning where they aren't supposed to, and issues with button opacity. However, these are mostly cosmetic in nature, and have little to no effect on the ability to finish the game.

Image: Key mechanics, such as emergency popups and news headings, have been fixed/implemented in the game.

Image: In addition, the game's narrative and message have been fully implemented into the game, allowing for proper testing of the full experience.

I really do feel that all the preparation work and measures we took in preparation for my departure for GDC paid off, as the game is still on schedule with some very minor hiccups. Now all that’s left is to resolve bugs, and implement the newest batch of playtest feedback, as well as adding a final layer of polish to the game. After, we may discuss whether we’d like to push this game to the Play Store, which could potentially bring it to a much wider possible audience.

I look forward to presenting our work to everybody, and receiving long awaited feedback to the finished game.
