Social media marketing is used as a broad term which is divided into “channels” such as different platforms like Facebook, Instagram etc. There are multiple uses for social media marketing such as information and updates, engagement, monitoring and more.
It is necessary to choose the correct platform based on the audience you care to reach, focusing on the most effective channel to reach the target audience will be the key to success. As of January 2023, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram dominate in terms of active users monthly bringing in users in the billions (Statista, 2023). The sheer numbers that these applications bring in make for prime marketing opportunities, especially when the correct hashtags are used to guide the posts to the correct audience.
A profile page design is also very important for marketing. Whether or not this is an online alias or the users’ real identity is up to them but making the works of a creator available to the public can gather interest online and bring eyes to a product that is created by said page. This can garner interest for the current project, but also future projects created by the creator.
Viral marketing is marketing via word of mouth. Almost everybody nowadays participates in this form of marketing in their day-to-day life, this marketing can work for any product. The way it works is by a user seeing an advertisement about a product through whatever means they have consumed it and then they have spread the word about the product they have seen. The beauty of this type of marketing is that the creator of the product doesn’t need to do anything other than their usual marketing as this ends up as a biproduct of that due to people sharing the things in which they are interested in with one another.
