Directing the motion capture and voice actors was great. I felt that we collectively prepared very well. Valerie and I locked in the script, though we still had the dialogue for our Wisdoms to be determined as we were still in consultation with our Elder Arzu. We captured motion capture at Dark Slope Studios with dancer Celeste, we lucked out that she already was familiar with the studio and team. It was a fun, seamless day. I started Celeste off with some good old theatre work to support her in deepening in the character and the environment. Through getting her to move around the room and begin tuning into her senses of the smell, sight, touch of the forest, she embodied Artemis beautifully.
She came up with something quite special that you will get to see at the end of the prototype.
As the day progressed we were making good time, and ended up having the opportunity to have some time to get some additional movements…
We had a few on the spot changes to the script, as some of you know, things start making more sense once things start coming off the page into the 3D.
