[INFO] This is the first and last time I will address this

Hi peeps, this is holyschnitzel ๐Ÿ‘‹

Me and Blastic would like to remind you of something:

We owe you nothing. No actions, no words, no apologies, no nothing. All right? Good, then we got that out of the way.

At some point, someone on a semi-private server took screenshots of a conversation from last year. I don't know why someone would spend so much time and energy finding things that make a person look bad, but okay. I consulted with a friend and together we found that there was not a single line in which I was blaming any 'victim'. What you see (if you can actually read), is me making assumptions and having an opinion. Shocking. I know. So, they found an opinion I have that they disagree with, which is okay, but calling me names is not okay. Spreading lies and making claims as if they are indisputable facts is not okay.

We have never interacted with these people before, but we have noticed that they harass, stalk and slander other people on Twitter. Which is why we blocked them - we simply don't need or want this in our lives. There is some very serious black-and-white thinking going on on their end, although the reality is much more complex than that.

And yeah, when we're shown that someone is insulting or slandering us, we block them. The same goes for the people who blindly support this cyberbullying. Why is that so shocking? Blocking someone doesn't mean you hide or run away, it means you don't want them in your life. We all choose who we let into our little Twitter world.

We curate our own online experience.

Make of it what you will. My opinion is my opinion, like it or not. Unfollow me, block me if you want, as long as you leave me and Blastic alone. My friend has done absolutely nothing, and yet she gets dragged into this and gets really nasty messages.

PS: Weaponizing your own trauma won't help you. Weaponizing other people's trauma to impose your views on others is simply pathetic and demeaning to those other people. It's their trauma, not yours. You're not supporting them by attacking whoever you think caused it or people who associate with them. You support them by being empathetic, being there for them, listening to them and validating their feelings, maybe helping them file a police report. Be a good friend and do better.

PPS: Oh and btw! I didn't report anything, I'm too busy with things that are far more important, like my job, and I don't believe in the Twitter report system, it only works if you mass report something. It was a concerned friend who told me the day after. And don't get this wrong; these tweets do violate German laws, Twitter just doesn't care much about abuse ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

I've compiled some interesting links about topics mentioned in this post:

Splitting (also called black-and-white thinking or all-or-nothing thinking) is the failure in a person's thinking to bring together the dichotomy of both perceived positive and negative qualities of something into a cohesive, realistic whole. It is a common defense mechanism wherein the individual tends to think in extremes (e.g., an individual's actions and motivations are all good or all bad with no middle ground). This kind of dichotomous interpretation is contrasted by an acknowledgement of certain nuances known as "shades of gray". [source: Wikipedia]
