It has been a while since my last log. I couldn't do anything, last moth was just miserable loop of mediocrity and anhedonia. Thankfully i feel little better now. So what better time to seek pixel tutorials and game textures?
Past week i got to look for temporary assets for the game and tutorials on texture creation. I think i can draw my own assets but i'm quite lacking in code department. Using placeholder should give me extra time to get my hang on state machines. The game is wonky atm, player moves and collides but I can't get the background to loop without breaking. That needs a fix.
In my search of assets on itch.io i stumbled on user Screaming Brain Studios and tutorials on their site. It's really fun, made myself starry space and a gas planet:
Didn't come out as a masterpiece, but i'm satisfied with the result. Also i borrowed a copy of a book "Fundamentals of game design" by Ernest Adams. read like 30 page of it. It's really cool interesting stuff, i do not want to lose this steam and rot in depression.
I'll do what i can do right now and hope things will get better in time.
