Game Snacks

I'm getting back into making game snacks, short, simple game-like experiences. I started by making these when I was learning to make games in hopes of working my way up towards doing a bigger project later. Now that it's later, the couple of bigger projects I've started have stalled -- too much time on-and-off, things keep changing, the amount of decisions required for all of it, it just adds up to too much. I also have a day job now, so finding the time and energy is challenging. I'm still excited about the things I made, but I don't know when I would have the time and resources to get them to the state I wanted.

So what do you do? How do you make games that you can share with the world when you only have a little time every day, and you're also tired from working. For me, besides specific work strategies I can share later, I'm focusing on Game Snacks. Ideally it takes no longer than a few days/weeks to complete. Not months. Definitely not years. Smallest scope possible and try to make it as cool as possible. We'll see. My goal is 1-per month for 2023. We'll see if I can keep that pace!

Either way, I'm excited to be making things again and be in a position to share them. See you soon.
