Hello there,
I haven't posted any new projects in ages! I have had a variety of obligations and commitments, but I have also been slowly working on a new project. Midnight Ceiling is a small third person, low poly fishing game, with a core loop focused around exploring, gathering food, and trying to feed a small community of animals.
I am basically making it to teach myself a bunch of technical skills, especially with shaders and UI elements, as well as to try and produce a more long-form, story driven game than my other work. The process has been genuinely enjoyable, and has improved my writing, programming and design skills.
I have just finished the core loop of the game, and am close to having a valid MVP. Hopefully within the month I should be able to build out the level design, add in a few more collectable objects and flesh out the full game loop. At that point I'm planning on releasing a demo, and will be looking for playtester feedback. That feedback will influence how I move forward with the project, in terms of whether it is worth putting more time into, or simply cleaning it up and releasing it as an artsy concept game.
