Brief '22 Reflection

Hello everyone, and Happy Holidays! I wanted to write a simple reflection post for '22.

About six months ago I teamed up with some nice people and published a tiny kinetic novel Ivy and Blue. (Feel free to check out one of their WIP games here!

I've been trying to learn more as a person and as a creative, watching free talks and taking game writing courses. Thinking about game dev from a business perspective is exciting, but can quickly become draining if you don't properly pace yourself.

I also announced DEITY--a project planned for the Phantasia Game Jam. Unfortunately, due to the large scope, there is no playable demo. Two character sprites are complete, however, progress on this game will likely be slow considering we are but a team of two.

In terms of unfinished projects, I suppose I have been avoiding them. Lately they've felt more like a burdensome obligation than something I look forward to. This isn't to say I still don't enjoy the story or characters--but I would perhaps change the script (or in some cases, rewrite it entirely).

All of the demos on my main page are still going to be worked on, albeit at different rates. I do apologize for the lack of proper updates for them. Hopefully, I can form new teams and rely on existing ones to help with release times and putting out a game we all can be proud of.

I am incredibly thankful for all I've learned and how I've grown this past year, but I'm already focusing on what's next.  Hopefully in the upcoming few months I can properly share what I've been working on!

Thanks for your patience and support, I greatly appreciate it.

For now, let's enjoy the remainder of '22, and I'll see you next year!
