Winter break?!

Trying to sail with no wind,

So the Finish Your Game Jam was a huge success in my books! I revisited  Peak making significant updates! Special shout out to James Gameboy for the music!

Now I'm trying to figure out what my next project is going to be... I've been meaning to dive into RPG In A Box for the last 6 months, but haven't been able to stick to it.  Sure it is not a fleshed out as RPGMaker but the freedom to make it 3d, or make it look 2d is super exciting to me.  Yet, so far all I've been able to do is open it up, look at the innards of the sample projects, and then close it up.  Hopefully I can get over that, because I would love to use this  for Global Game Jam this year!

Even without the "New tool Paralysis", I've not been able to sit down with tools I know, and accomplish much either. Just a lot of blank screens, empty projects, and stock assets.  Currently it is the roughest point in the year for my day job slinging lattes, so I just don't have the energy to do much outside eat, sleep, work, consume media...

Drop the big anchor,

I do have ideas jotted down for projects, but all I'm accomplishing is beating myself up for not being productive, and  guilt tripping my way through experiences that I want to enjoy! Case and point I just got Chained Echoes,  and hasn't been since Elden Ring that I'm playing a game where I DON'T have to do some form of daily/Battle Pass! I've put a couple hours into, and I've enjoyed getting enthralled with it, and just playing a damn video game.  Not grinding for cosmetics, gacha currency, or crafting materials for an mmo, just playing a game!! Yet that damn Hustle Demon is like "Yo, what are you doing? Get back to making things!"

Pull up a chair and relax!

With that in mind, I'm going to just let go of the expectation of me doing anything productive until January! If I make something, I make something, and if I don't, I don't! The biggest take away from coming back to Peak, was how much more refreshed, and into the project!  So yeah, I'm going to take a break. (Not that it is going to change much of my social media activity at this point, still going to be pretty minimal when it comes to gamedev.)  Then when it is time to pull up the anchor, I'm refreshed, ready, and have  a  good wind for the sails!
