Quick Update For October 2025 [Multiplayer Update]


Hello everyone, I hope you're enjoying Spooky Season. I have been hard at work with UMDO and getting it ready for a stable demo release for October 31st. Its nearly ready and now, I'm happy to announce that after reporting some issues to KageDesu about my version of ANET PRO being broken he gave me a stable, working version that is working as intended! I even ran a battle and it seemed like it was working! So, I'm going to run the demo battle with two players and see if everything works and if it does that'll cover battles, than I just need to do PvP which won't be as simple...because it uses Frontview and requires Actor images....but I have a good idea of how to handle this...it won't be perfect...some of you may even dislike it...but it'll have to do...basically, I'll create images for Player 1-4 and such, and have it so that those images are unique. The won't be characters, but rather an Icon. This should just simply work. But the good news, is that ANET has always been the best experience for me, I never had sync issues even when I didn't fucking sync anything LMAO. So we got this my friends, we got this. Lets go!

Anyways, I'll see what I can do, get some testing done and everything...and if it all works out not only will you have a demo by October 31st but it may even have multiplayer and PvP. You'll even be able to input your own IPv4 if you have your own server. Of course, I'll include a Radmin VPN Network as well, my own personal one that you guys can connect to...but it may not always be available. Eventually, I'll pay for an actual game server somewhere. I believe a simple Minecraft server or something would work just fine.

I'm updating this announcement at 5:53pm Est on October 10th....anyways...after some playing around with ANET I managed to get it working. Still no PvP because as unfortunate as it is our Creator KageDesu hates us...but we've been blessed with working, albeit...jank Multiplayer. Let me tell you what works and what doesn't.

Player Sync, when both players join a server, in my case I'm using a Radmin VPN Network....there is a minor desync where the players turn invisible but they soon turn visible again. This could just be a Radmin issue, Idk...I don't exactly own a server I can use...

What DOES work.

So far, battles are synced just fine but again...its not without its flaws...in Multiplayer when a player joins a battle that battle has to be global, so it plays for all players. This means if one player enters a battle, ALL Players enter a battle.

Map transfers are the same in the fact that when one player transfers maps they all do. So this is going to be less Multiplayer and more Couch Potato mode. Where the point is a shared experience meant to be experienced together with another player. I will probably also only make Multiplayer unlock at a certain point in the game so that having other Actors in your party makes sense. Idk how to handle it really, but I think I'm going to figure something out. Worse case scenario is you can only play with 2 players at a time in 2 Player CO-OP Mode, this is the most likely scenario honestly.
