GioShen — A dynamic boardgame

Hello everyone,

Here's the post about GioShen—an in-progress board game that is like Chess but the whole board changes.

The GIF is the current state of the game (i.e., grab the free tile and move it around).

However, the video below is a 3D animation with simulated physics that shows how a turn works:

1. The player first move the board by inserting the free tile, causing everything to shift. If a piece falls out of the board it is teleported to the other side of the board.

2. The player moves one of their pieces according to the rules.

3. The center piece rotates by 90 degrees clockwise.

Despite having less pieces than Chess, this board game is hard since you have to factor in the movements of the board. Plus, the rules to how pieces move are written to take into account the moving board.

And yes, the animation uses a smaller board because I needed a smaller file to post these GIFs.
