Over the years I’ve made and developed multiple bara furry games but have only released them as prototypes. Being a solo dev with a full time job I do not have a full week or day to work on games especially during game jams. So I try my best to work with the time I have.
A game revolving around an amnesiac wolf whose love for dungeon crawling and treasure hunting leads him to filling the gaps in his memories. This game focuses entirely on 3D Dungeon Crawling (like Legend of Grimrock, Skullstone etc.) with NSFW scenes, strip combat and more. The main character is a dodge tank due to a specific curse he has inflicted on him.
Currently, I’m trying to overhaul the game from the prototype to make a 3D dungeon that you can actually explore instead of a sprite. I’ve gotten really far but so far the main issue is I had bought a package for handling creating the 3D map (so I dont have to do it all manually). It works well enough and comes with some interesting but since the dev is no longer active I will have to reverse engineer the code to add stuff I need to it (Enemies, Items, Etc).
A game centered on Astra a tiger Champion who’s group had been decimated by a Rogue Demon who kidnapped and trapped him in a basement. Following his awakening, he is bred, mpregged and left in a prison cell.
I’ll be honest the ideas I have for this game is heavily incest related. This might make the game very difficult to publish with all the censorship bills going around and definitely not because RPGMaker is the worst game engine I’ve ever used. I’m more likely to remake this game in construct 3 than I am to touch RPGMaker again or make an RPGMaker-like system in Unity. As for the incest, which if you played the game is planned to be a large part of it, and the ongoing censorship bills I could hardly care less what the Karens from the spider continent say I’m still gonna make at least the demo.
Champion days is a 2D side scroller beat em up featuring Kraig, a another Champion fresh off of Earth and is thrown into Asteria. Unlike Astra’s story, Kraig’s gameplay will involve branching storylines heading towards a specific ending. Whether its, becoming a hero, treasure hunter, thief, or just pure evil is entirely up to the player. This game is a lot more ambitious in terms of story and coding but I still want to make it. There are no roadblocks outside of just a lot of animating which would be good practice for me.
Side B was similar to Boss Crawler’s original gameplay with word spelling as a twist but because of timing I didnt really do much in the prototype so I don’t really like this game all that much. Honestly, I’d rather make the game as a side story IN the actual Boss Crawler when I get to it.
Monster catching bara game with turn based mechanics. The main inspiration, despite it being a monster catching game, actually came from the super paper mario series. Sadly, I tried to do too much all at once in a game jam’s timespan and resulted in another incomplete game. Didn’t even make it to the end of the bara jam and because of a false positive virus issue I delisted it and made it play in browser only. Really, the main killers in this game are Unity’s god awful UI system, and balancing gameplay. I’m debating on whether to make the turn based structure based on Honkai Star Rail, Dislyte, Pokemon, FF, or Super Paper Mario.
This is also the game where I first bought the Naninovel package and spent most of the time fighting it to get dialogue working. Like Boss Crawler and Champion Days it has a lot of potential but its also very long in scope (How long to create from start to finish). I spent a lot of time designing the spirits, baramon? Etc. I just haven’t gotten too deep into type advantages, buffs, debuffs and actually strategy just yet.
Is that my Mate will feature my first fursona working as a front desk worker letting members in and keeping strangers and demons out. Its 100% inspired by Thats not my neighbor but with sex. A lot of the issue came from figuring out the core gameplay. As one person speculated I’m trying to do 2 things instead of 1 which is dialogue between each person to find their match and spotting imposters which increases how much time you spend on each person. Suffice to say this one will be a challenge just for that alone.
Listen I’m not good at names ok. I’m a porn dev/artist not a writer. Also. Wet space is another gay rpg but this is my attempt at making RPGMaker without RPGMaker. Its supposed to be similar to playing top down normally in RPGMaker but I’m going for a more Enter the Gungeon type of gameplay. Main character is on a space station thats infested with latex based monsters. This was originally started for the yaoi game jam but I forgot yaoi is more feminine instead of masculine like bara but I had already started so I’m gonna finish the prototype hopefully by the end of August.
Also, Monetization. As of right now I have 0 plans to make any of the games require purchase and while I would love to have a patreon/subscribestar for donations to the game. On top of this stupid censorship bill Karens and idiots are trying to pass I also have a full time job that takes huge priority over this. I might just make a subscribestar in the future when I get far enough in the game’s development that I feel comfortable with receiving donations for it.
All in all I plan to start focusing on 1 particular game at a time from now on. At least until I get an actual playable demo of the game out. Whatever kinks I decide to put in my game I apologize in advance 😂. Let me know which games you guys want me to focus my time on. Also, let me know of any kinks you would want to see in those games. (MPreg and Incest are already on my table)
Its also worth mentioning they are all called Asteria Stories because these all take place in the same world. Not so much the same time period but still.
Also I’m on and off about it but yes I plan on participating in future bara jams (if they still happen)
Forgot to mention but so far I’m leaning towards “Is that my Mate” and “Champion Days”
