The Twisting Host is a nascent tabletop game cooperative with the aim of getting game developers the payment and recognition that their hard work and wonderful games deserve. The Bundle Initiative we're starting is a profit sharing program to help achieve those goals. Each Twisting Host bundle will contain some of the very best indie RPGs, story games, game tech, and other related content you can find anywhere on the internet.
The idea is pretty simple, but here's how it works: Pay one small price and you get a ton of amazing games and related content from some of the best indie devs out there! Then each of us involved in the bundle gets an even share of the profits.
September's bundle has a ton of great offerings, from EXO, a mecha piloting, monster-hunting RPG powered by LUMEN, to CRYTPID TV, where you'll hunt monsters in a different way, playing crew members of a cryptid-hunting reality TV show, and sabotaging the proceedings while trying to conceal the fact you and the rest of your team are yourselves, not quite human.
If hunting great beasts in the wilds is your more your jam, swap your TV camera for tech-armour and explore the wilderness of an icebound planet in a sci-fi world inspired by Viking history and culture in 24XX: Fimbulwinter. And integrate the rules-lite style of 24XX with some additional streamlined combat mechanics using Sean F. Smith's Quarrel & Fable.
Also included in this month's bundle are monsters of a different sort, bureaucracy and nepotism. In Nakade's Civil & Local Services, you play the role of local bureaucrats trying get one up on the rest of the bunch in a satirical RPG inspired by Parks and Rec.
Adventure into the woods (literally!) and create a hex map inspired by your real-world exploration with Conkerers. With simple dice rolls to randomise enemies and combat mechanics using foraged conkers, this game is the perfect companion for an autumn walk.
Looking for higher stakes? We have you covered with CRYSTALLINE, a LUMEN based game inspired by FFXIV, a system built to enable action backed boss fights against the monsters which herald the apocalypse. Only you, the Heritors, have the will and clarity of vision needed to save the world.
Finally, in Tether, you'll play with one other friend, as you inhabit the roles of two characters in one village, split apart by the passage of time. You'll discover the secrets of the ancient creature who also inhabits your town, and truths about each other in the process.
